Stabbed in the Back. Idiom

This means “betrayed”.

“I thought they loved me like I was a member of their family, but they’ve stabbed me in the back“.

Yea, I’m familiar with that one.

Someone can also be a back stabber, and that person would be a disloyal person: usually a back stabber would be a person who would do anything to benefit themselves.
